Solstice Aleworks

Design Challenge:

The client was in need of a bold wordmark for use in a new restaurant and brewery venture. Newspaper ads were also needed for promotional purposes.

Design Solution:

I took my inspiration from the duality of the solstice, a point in the celestial year when the sun is at its highest and lowest. I was also inspired by the idea that the client would eventually be opening a grill in the brewery. The flames in the design reference not only the sun, but the grill.

As there are a multitude of breweries in Sonoma County currently, I wanted to entice patrons with the location in the newspaper ads. Photographs were utilized to create a feeling of casual energy.
